India reports 2,593 new Covid-19 cases, daily positivity rate at 0.59%

New Delhi, April 24: As India is witnessing a steady rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, 2,593 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours across the country. The daily positivity rate stands at 0.59 percent, informed the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday. Earlier, India had reported 2,527 new Covid-19 cases, with a daily positivity rate of 0.56% on Saturday and 2,451 new cases with a daily positivity rate of 0.55 percent on Friday. According to today's government update, India's active caseload currently stands at 15,873, constituting 0.04 percent of the country's total positive cases. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,36,532 tests were performed. The weekly positive rate is 0.54%. India reports 2,527 new Covid-19 cases, 33 more deaths With 1,755 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries now stands at 4,25,19,479. The recovery rate is 98.75%.
