India logs 861 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi, April 11: India reported fresh 861 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a daily case positivity rate of 0.32 percent, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. The active cases in the country now stand at 11,058, accounting for 0.03 percent of the total cases. According to the data update by the Ministry, 929 Covid-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the country since the onset of the pandemic to 4,25,03,383. The rate of recovery is recorded at 98.76 percent.

Six patients succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the Covid-related death toll in the country rose to 5,21,691. The weekly positivity rate in India is recorded at 0.23 percent. So far, 1,85,74,18,827 vaccine shots have been administered in the country. India's Covid cases drop below 1,000 mark More than 18.03 crore balanced and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and Union Territories (UTs), according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare "More than 188.88 crore (1,88,88,10,015) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category," informed the ministry.
