India logs 1,007 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours
New Delhi, April 14: India reported 1,007 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a daily case positivity rate of 0.23 percent, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday. With this, the active caseload in the country stands at 11,058, accounting for 0.03 percent of the total cases. As many as 818 Covid patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,25,06,228, said the update. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.76 percent. On Thursday, the active Covid-19 caseload increased for the first time in 80 days. As many as 4,34,877 samples were tested on Wednesday, while the total number of Covid tests conducted in the country so far is 83.08 crore. The weekly positivity rate is 0.25 percent. In addition, 18 Indian states and union territories have reported an increase in active cases in the last 24 hours. Mizoram had a daily test positivity rate of 10.47 percent, Haryana had a rate of 3.05 percent, Nagaland had a rate of 2.63 percent, and Delhi had a rate of 2.49 percent. Furthermore, there are 27 districts in the country with a weekly test positivity rate of more than 5%, including 23 districts in Kerala alone.
