Independence Day: Security beefs up in Delhi amid threat alerts from Intelligence

New Delhi [India], August 14: On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Delhi Police ensures impregnable security by keeping an eye on the potential terror modules and "anti-social elements" in the city. The Delhi Police stated that they have tightened the security and vigilance at all eight borders of Delhi, especially in markets and Red Fort. delhi3 (5) Also Read | President Droupadi Murmu to address nation at 7 pm For more enhanced security, the Delhi Police have deployed anti-drone system to ensure protection against drone attacks. The anti-drone system was manufactured by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Bharat Electronics (BEL). Meanwhile, Red Fort is shielded with a Radar system to ensure safety of drones. The police personnel are also taught the ways to combat suspected objects flying in the sky, the police said. The police received some specifically strong alerts concerning the security in Delhi on August 15. delhi5 (5) The Intelligence agencies have issued a high alert for a terrorist attack in the city on Monday: As per the sources, Delhi Police also busted terrorist from different states including Punjab, Pakistan border and also recovered numerous of explosive devices such as pistols, hand grenades, AK-47, etc. The Delhi Police also banned the flying of kites around the Red Fort as terror attack can also be suspected via a flying object. Delhi Police also advised deployed forces to ensure strong screening and to keep an eye over suspicious activities and terror modules.
