Baisakhi 2023: The festival of Sikh grandeur is around the corner and the energy among the Punjabis has already began anticipating the festivity with utmost eagerness. We are undoubtedly talking about Baisakhi that will be celebrated on April 14, 2023. 

Baisakhi also known as ‘Vaisakh Sankranti’ or ‘Vaisakhi’, Baisakhi is a spring harvest festival celebrated in Punjab and other parts of North India.

People celebrate this day with great pomp. They enjoy bonfire with family, friends and relatives. 

But the festival is incomplete without some appetising, special traditional food like ‘Makki di Roti’, ‘Pinjiri’, ‘Lassi’, ‘Kesari Kheer’ and other such mouth watering-foods

Here’s the list of special mouth watering dishes you can try this Baisakhi 

Makki di Roti & Sarson ka Saag: The mandatory combination Sarso Da Saag and Makki Di Roti is very must in Baisakhi thali. Prepared with fresh ground corn, enlivened up with grated radish, radish leaves, coriander leaves, chopped green chilies and not to forget, lots of white butter, the aromatic dish is a not-to-miss food

Dahi Bhalle: The soft yet crisp dumplings made with Urad daal, dunked into sour yogurt are served with roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, and a special ingredient, pomegranate seeds.

Kesari Kheer : Kesari Kheer is a desert made with a sweet rice pudding that is made with milk, sugar, and saffron. The dish is rich and delicious desert, commonly served during Baisakhi.


Pinjiri: It is fantastic and mom-made. What it is? The roasted sweet is made with wheat flour and chopped almonds laced with pure ghee and edible gum (commonly prepared with melted jaggery), loaded with cashews, almonds and raisins, these pinjirs are a never-miss item on your platter.

Lassi: This is a refreshing drink made with yogurt, water, and sugar. It is a traditional Punjabi drink that is often served during Baisakhi.

Chole Bhature: Chole Bhature is a popular dish from North India made with spicy chickpeas and deep-fried bread. It is a popular street food and a common dish during Baisakhi.
