Farmers protest against farm laws 2020: Day after the 10th round of meeting between the Centre and farmers, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha on Thursday rejected the proposal put forth by the government on Wednesday.
In a full general body meeting of Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the proposal put forth by the Government yesterday, was rejected. Farmers demand full repeal of farm laws 2020 and enacting legislation for remunerative MSP for all farmers.
Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said, “We have told Delhi Police that our tractor parade on Jan 26 will be non-violent and historic. Any violence which happens will be from government side. We have rejected the centre’s proposals on agri laws."

During the meeting, the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had offered to constitute a committee with farmers and government representatives as members. The committee was to discuss laws clause wise. Since the court had put farm laws on hold for 2 months, if needed and consultations are on, the govt can wait for a year for their implementation, he had said.
The Agriculture Minister had also told farmer unions during the 10th round of meeting between Centre and farmers that the government was ready to give an affidavit in SC to dispel any doubts in the minds of farmer unions.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta) chief Joginder Singh Ugrahan said that "It was decided that no proposal of Govt will be accepted until and unless they repeal the laws."
"In tomorrow's meet (with Govt) we'll say that we've only one demand, repeal the laws and legally authorise MSP. All these have been unanimously decided," he added.
The farmers’ have been protesting at Delhi borders against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
