Farmers begin Day 2 of ‘Kisan Sansad’ at Jantar Mantar, Hardev Singh Arshi appointed Speaker
Farmers Protest: Farmers started Day 2 of the Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar on Friday, which is being organised in parallel to the Parliament's Monsoon Session 2021. Farmers have been seeking the repeal of three 'black laws'. On Day 2 of Kisan Sansad, Ravneet Brar was made Agriculture Minister while Samyukta Kisan Morcha spokesperson Jagtar Singh Bajwa was appointed the Deputy Speaker. Farmers discussed the issues of 'mandikaran' and Minimum Support Price (MSP). Even the 'Sansad' had a 'Prime Minister' on Friday. This is for the first time since the Republic Day violence that the protesting farmers have been granted permission to hold a demonstration in the national capital. As many as 200 farmers have been allowed to visit Jantar Mantar for the protest on the condition that the agitation should be peaceful. Farmers have been demanding the repeal of the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. -PTC News
