Sonakshi Sinha responds about inter-faith marriage with Zaheer Iqbal, says 'love transcends all boundaries'
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal registered their union in accordance with the Special Marriage Act's regulations.
PTC News Desk: On June 23, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot in a civil ceremony. The couple has been subjected to vicious trolling for their interfaith connection ever since social media rumors about their wedding started circulating.
In reaction, the couple decided to remove comments from their Instagram postings in order to prevent needless animosity and criticism when they shared pictures from their wedding. The Heeramandi actor has now discreetly responded to the mocking by making a remark on a post by illustrator Prasad Bhat that included parodies of Sonakshi and Zaheer from their nuptial celebration. The post's caption said, "Love is the universal religion."
Sonakshi Sinha remarked, saying, "Very true! This is very cute! I'm grateful. On her Instagram story, she reposted the article as well.
ICYDK: In accordance with the terms of the Special Marriage Act, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal registered their marriage. The actress's new Mumbai flat served as the venue for the civil ceremony.
"On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017), in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it," Sonakshi wrote on Instagram while posting photos from the ceremony. With the help of our families and both of our gods, we are finally married thanks to the love that has led us through all of the hardships and victories that have preceded us. From now until forever, here's to love, hope, and everything lovely with one other."
For those who don't know, there have been rumors that Sonakshi and Zaheer are dating since 2016. The 2022 movie Double XL featured them together on screen. They were also featured in last year's Jodi Blockbuster music video.
