Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and kids gets police protection after knife attack
Two police constables have reportedly been assigned to ensure family’s safety, particularly during public outings
PTC Web Desk: The Mumbai Police have provided temporary protection to actors Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and their children, Taimur and Jeh, following a knife attack on Saif at his Bandra residence last week. The actor sustained multiple injuries during the incident, including serious cuts to his neck and back, and underwent surgery before spending five days in Lilavati Hospital. Saif was discharged on Tuesday and has since returned home.
As per information, two police constables have been assigned to ensure the family’s safety, particularly during public outings. Additionally, the Bandra police station has intensified patrolling in the area, deploying both foot patrols and vehicle surveillance. The upscale Bandra neighbourhood, home to several high-profile celebrities, has recently experienced a series of crimes, including the knife attack on Saif, a shooting incident at Salman Khan’s residence, and the murder of politician Baba Siddiqui. The police are also monitoring popular public spots in the area on an hourly basis.
In light of the attack, Saif Ali Khan has implemented additional security measures at his Bandra apartment complex. A private security firm, owned by actor Ronit Roy, has been brought in to bolster safety at the residence. CCTV cameras have been installed at the building's entrance as part of these arrangements.
Saif Ali Khan sustained six injuries while defending his family and staff from the intruder, a Bangladeshi national, who has since been apprehended and is in police custody. Investigations reveal that the attacker intended to carry out a burglary and was unaware of Saif’s celebrity status.
