Remembering Sidhu Moosewala on his birthday: A musical legend and cultural icon
Sidhu Moosewala Birthday News: Born in the village of Moosa in the Mansa district of Punjab, India, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also recognised internationally as Sidhu Moosewala, was the son of a Jatt Sikh family. Moosewala had a strong love for music from a young age, influenced by hip-hop legends like Tupac. In the sixth grade, he began to listen to hip-hop, and in Ludhiana, Harvinder Bittu gave him professional music instruction.
At Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College in Ludhiana, Moosewala studied electrical engineering and graduated in 2016. He relocated to Brampton, Ontario, Canada, after graduation to attend Humber College. In 2017, he published his debut single, "G Wagon," during this time. Later that year, Byg Byrd's gangster rap single "So High," which served as his breakthrough hit, launched him to stardom.
His ascent in the music business was swift. He started doing live performances in India and Canada in 2018, and he also dropped hits including "Issa Jatt" and "Just Listen." The diss tune "Warning Shots" marked Moosewala's debut in the industry, and he then released the smash song "Legend" under his own record label, which took home the Brit Asia TV Kuflink Best tune of the Year Award in 2019. He was listed as one of Punjab's most popular artists on Spotify.
Moosewala expanded his skill set and entered the Punjabi film industry, making his feature debut with "Yes I Am Student" through his production business, Jatt Life Studios. In addition, he revealed a number of other movie projects, such as "Moosa Jatt" and "Jattan Da Munda Gaun Lagya."
Moosewala encountered controversy despite his success, including accusations that he was encouraging gun culture. He was a prominent political figure who stood for Punjab Legislative Assembly office in 2021 with the Indian National Congress after supporting his mother Charan Kaur.
Sadly, on May 29, 2022, Sidhu Moosewala, then 28 years old, was shot and killed in Jawaharke village, Mansa, by unknown assailants. Goldy Brar, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, took credit for the killing.
Fans honor Sidhu Moosewala on his birthday for his unwavering spirit and contributions to Punjabi culture in addition to his music and cinematic works. On Moosewala's birthday, we remember his invaluable contributions to music, cinema, and his community, which have left a lasting impression on millions of people.
