Popular Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi dies at 40 due to jaundice

‘King of Tunes’ no more: Popular Haryanvi singer and musician, Raju Punjabi passed away at 40 in hospital in Haryana’s Hisar. 

A per the media reports, Raju Punjabi was hospitalised for approximately 10 days due as he was suffering from jaundice but his health deteriorated and he had to be put on ventilator support but even he succumbed to his illness.

According to the reports, Haryanvi singer’s last rites to be performed at his native village in Rawatsar Kheda. 

‘Irreparable loss to the music industry in Haryana’ 

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed his grief and condoled the demise of Punjabi singer. He also took to his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "Received the sad news of the demise of famous Haryanvi singer and music producer Raju Punjabi ji. His passing away is an irreparable loss to the Haryana Music Industry."

"May God give place to the departed soul at his holy feet and give strength to his family members to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!” 

Meanwhile, singer KD Desi Rock also mourns demise of Raju Punjabi and shared the photo of Haryanvi singer from hospital bed and captioned it as “Raju wapas aaja (Raju come back).”

Raju Punjabi was popular in Punjab and Rajasthan

Notably, Raju Punjabi was a popular Haryanvi singer and musician. He was known for his contributions to the Haryanvi music industry, particularly in the genre of Haryanvi folk and pop music. His music often included catchy beats, energetic rhythms, and lyrics that reflect the culture and traditions of Haryana. 

Raju Punjabi gained fame for his unique singing style and has released numerous Haryanvi songs that have become hits among the regional audience.
