PTC News Desk: A parantha and digital payments led cops to the attacker of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

Shariful Islam Shehzad in a robbery bid stabbed Saif Ali Khan multiple times and was arrested by Mumbai Police on Sunday.

Several teams of Mumbai Police deployed to nab the accused in high profile case, zeroed in  Shehzad after he paid for breakfast - a paratha - via a Google Pay transaction, presumably on his mobile phone.

A Bangladeshi national living in India was arrested near a remote road in the Thane area. He was chased into a thicket along the roadside, which was then encircled by the police before they apprehended him.

Shehzad had been evading the arrest ever since the attack on Khan at his residence in Mumbai's posh Bandra West area in the early hours of Thursday. Apparently, the accused surpassed high-profile building's security by jumping over the compound wall of an adjacent building and sneaking in via a rear staircase and reportedly used air-conditioning ducts to avoid detection.

However, Shehzad's movements were captured in CCTV which helped police in achieving concise images leading to his hunt. The tremendous capture included 30 police teams following separate leads and lines of investigation with several hours of scrutiny.
