PTC News Desk: Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic won the prestigious Miss World 2024 title at a lavish event held at Mumbai's Jio World Convention Centre.
Miss World 2022, Karolina Bielawska from Poland, crowned her successor. Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon is the first runner-up in the 71st Miss World 2024 contest.
The competition included 112 participants contending for the coveted crown. Sini Shetty represented India. However, she did not make it into the Top 4.
Karan Johar, a renowned filmmaker, hosted the 71st Miss World 2024 pageant alongside former Miss World Megan Young.
Krystyna Pyszkova expresses gratitude
Krystyna expressed gratitude for winning the title on Saturday, saying she had been working on it for a long time.
"I couldn't be happier to be standing here to express my emotions. I am very excited. I'd been working on Miss World for a long time," she told the media.
"My purpose project is a lifelong mission and something I have been working on for years, and I know with the Miss World platform, I will be able to bring awareness to it. I will be able to help as many children as possible," she further said.
Who is Krystyna Pyszkova?
Miss World 2024 is a law student at Charles University in Prague and also serves with the Sonta Foundation in Tanzania, teaching English to underprivileged children.
She has a particular interest in music and allegedly spent nine years in an art academy.
According to Pyszkova's profile on the website, "Her proudest moment was opening an English school for underprivileged children in Tanzania where she also volunteered. She enjoys playing the transverse flute and the violin, and has a passion for music and art having spent nine years in an art academy".
