PTC News Desk: Gurucharan Singh, known for portraying Roshan Singh Sodhi in the beloved sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', has been reported missing since April 22, with his last known location in Delhi. Sources reveal that Singh was on the brink of marriage and grappling with financial difficulties before his disappearance.
Despite intending to travel from Delhi to Mumbai on April 22, Singh never boarded his scheduled flight. Delhi Police investigations uncovered Singh's withdrawal of Rs 7,000 from an ATM in Delhi, corroborated by CCTV footage. Mobile phone tracking indicated Singh's presence in Delhi until April 24, after which his phone was turned off.
Concern among Singh's co-stars has escalated with his sudden absence. Mandar Chandwadkar, who portrayed Atmaram on the show, expressed bewilderment, citing Singh's frequent travels between Delhi and Mumbai. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Taarak Mehta's wife, echoed Chandwadkar's sentiments, expressing hope for Singh's well-being and characterizing him as a spiritual and compassionate individual.
Both actors parted ways with 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' due to personal disputes with the production team. Bansiwal departed in 2023, citing alleged harassment by producers, while Singh exited the show in 2020.
A case of kidnapping has been registered by Singh's father, prompting the formation of multiple police teams to locate the actor. Despite his flight scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on a recent Monday, Singh was captured on CCTV footage at a traffic intersection in Palam, heading towards Gurugram with a backpack around 9:14 p.m.
