PTC News Desk: After Divya Khossla accused Jigra of stealing her film Savi, which was released in May, filmmaker Karan Johar posted a cryptic message suggesting that 'silence is the best response'.
Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt, entered theatres on October 11. In response to KJo's hidden dig, Divya responded with a strong remark.
“Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools (sic),” Karan’s posted.
Although the filmmaker did not address the issue directly, the timing of his post suggested that it was a subtle response to Divya's allegations against Alia Bhatt.
Following that, Divya replied sharply on her Instagram story. “When you are shamelessly accustomed to stealing what rightfully belongs to others, you will always seek shelter in silence. You will have no voice no spine (sic),” she said.
Earlier, Divya accused Alia Bhatt for rigging box office numbers and said: "Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. Theatre was totally empty all theaters going empty everywhere. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai...Khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye. Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra (sic)."
This follows recent speculation about the parallels between Divya's films Savi and Jigra. While acknowledging them, Divya expressed thanks for being the first to explore the genre, underlining that both films take separate paths.
Savi, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor, depicts the story of a housewife who tries to release her husband from a high-security jail in England, drawing inspiration from the narrative of Savitri and Satyavan. Meanwhile, Jigra follows Alia Bhatt's character, who plans a jailbreak to save her brother.
