Director of Salman Khan's 'Bodyguard' passes away at 69

Bodyguard film director death: Director of Salman Khan's 'Bodyguard' film Siddique passed away on Tuesday. He was 69.

The noted Malayalam director cum producer breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi following a heart attack on Monday.

Siddique had previously been diagnosed with pneumonia and liver disease.

Director Siddique, known for his outstanding contributions to Malayalam films, rose to fame following his work with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the 2011 blockbuster release Bodyguard.

The movie was a Hindi remake of his Malayalam film of the same name. His contributions to the Tamil film industry included directing the Tamil remake of Bodyguard, titled Kaavalan, which starred Vijay and Asin.

Siddique started his filmmaking career by working with Lal, under the guidance of renowned director Fazil. During their engagements with the Cochin Kalabhavan troupe, the duo's talents were highlighted, attracting the attention of none other than Fazil himself.

They created the legendary Siddique-Lal duo, who were responsible for a slew of cinematic masterpieces. Their first collaboration, "Ramji Rao Speaking," released in 1989 and later served as inspiration for the hit Bollywood film "Hera Pheri" and its Tamil adaptation, "Arangetra Velai."
