PTC News Desk: Diljit Dosanjh's much anticipated film 'Panjab 95' will not hit the theatres on February 7 as announced earlier. The film was already being delayed for over a year due to Central Board of Film Certificate impasse.

The film, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, has been facing ongoing struggles with censorship, leading to the unfortunate postponement.

Actor singer Diljit Dosanjh took to his social media and announced the unfortunate news and expressed regret over delay while leaving his fans disheartened. "We are sorry and it pains us to inform that the movie Punjab ’95 will not release on 7th Feb due to circumstances beyond our control," the actor wrote.

The movie which revolves around story of Sikh rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who exposed the extrajudicial killings of Sikh youth by the Punjab Police in the 1990s has been subjected to significant censor board interference resulting in unprecedented delay in the release

Earlier on January 18, Diljit shared the release date of the film as he shared some behind the scenes in which he looked tremendously injured. He had also announced that film will be released globally without any cuts. As per the announcement, owing to the sensitive nature of the film, the censor board had advised the directors to make certain cuts ranging to 120, however the film will be released without any cuts.
