Animal Box Office collection: Ranbir Kapoor's film becomes second-highest opener of 2023

PTC News Desk: The first-day box office collection of Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, is out, and it is massive. It has blown up the box office, with one of the biggest opening days for an A-rated feature film. 

On Friday, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial made a whopping Rs 100 crore at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has become the second biggest opener of all time, trailing only Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which grossed Rs 126 crore on its first day.

Animal had one of the highest pre-sales figures in Indian film history. According to estimates in India, it has earned Rs 76 crore (Rs 64 crore net). International markets have received USD 5.5 million (Rs 46 crore). Animal did extremely well on its first day, even though it was released on a non-holiday. 

It is also the third Hindi film, following Pathaan and Jawan, to have a Rs 100 crore opening day in the North. Animal was released alongside Meghna Gulzar's period drama Sam Bahadur, starring Vicky Kaushal, but the latter has a slow start at the box office, with the latter expected to do better on weekends.
