Govinda sends audio message from hospital after sustaining bullet wound from misfire

PTC News Desk: Hours after being admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to a bullet injury in his leg, popular actor Govinda shared an audio message expressing gratitude to his fans for their support. The injury occurred below his knee as a result of a misfire from his licensed firearm.

In the audio clip, the 60-year-old actor spoke in a raspy voice, acknowledging the positive energy and blessings from his fans, parents, and guru that he believes helped him through this incident. "I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers," Govinda stated.

The incident happened around 4:45 am while Govinda was preparing to leave for the airport for a flight to Kolkata. At the time, he was alone at his residence. According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, Govinda was attempting to secure his licensed revolver when it fell to the floor and accidentally discharged, resulting in the injury.

After the accident, Govinda reached out to his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata, as well as his manager. Emergency services responded promptly, and he was transported to Criticare Hospital in Juhu, where his condition is reported to be stable. His daughter, Tina, is currently by his side at the hospital.

The Mumbai Police noted that Govinda has not filed any complaints regarding the incident. Sinha mentioned, "We had a 6 am flight for a show in Kolkata, and Govinda ji was about to leave his residence when this accident occurred. It's a miracle that he only sustained a leg injury and nothing more serious."

In light of the incident, Sunita Ahuja immediately traveled to Mumbai after learning about her husband's injury.

Govinda, a veteran of Bollywood known for his iconic comedy roles and dance performances during the 1990s, recently ventured into politics by joining the Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena in March. Fans and well-wishers are eagerly awaiting official updates on his recovery, sending their heartfelt messages and prayers for the beloved actor.
