Dr. Charnjit Singh Pruthi is president of Punjab Medical Council
Chandigarh: One of the prominent cardiologists across northern India, Dr. Charnjit Singh Pruthi has taken over as the president of the Punjab Medical Council. Pruthi thanked Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi and Medical Education and Research Minister Raj Kumar Verka for trusting him and giving him the opportunity. He had obtained an MBBS degree in 1977 and M.D. (Medicine) degree in 1983 from Government Medical College, Amritsar. He received a Fellowship in Cardiology. Besides, he has also served in various medical institutions and has participated in many national, international conferences. In 1995, he started first open-heart surgery center in northern India under the name of BBC Heart Care Pruthi Hospital, Jalandhar. Also, he is a chairman of Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar. -PTC News
