Meanwhile, it may be recalled that Sardool Sikander's wife Amar Noori donated him a kidney. Reportedly, Sardool Sikander, after a kidney transplant, had said that "We Need UK legend artists to get in touch and support the gift of life with the Donor Awareness song."

On his death, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal wrote: "Saddened to learn about the demise of legendary Punjabi playback singer Sikander Ji. A huge loss to the Punjabi movie and music Industry. Prayers for his family, friends & fans. May his soul rest in peace!"
