Dera Bassi MLA NK Sharma tests positive for coronavirus
While coronavirus cases in Punjab continue to rise at a rapid pace, the Dera Bassi Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) NK Sharma on Wednesday announced that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Taking to Twitter, NK Sharma wrote: "I was not feeling well from the last couple of days which resulted in Corona positive today. I request those all who met me last week to get your COVID test. I am feeling quite well & have isolated myself totally, ll be in your service after recovering completely." The death toll in the state has increased to 920 after 24 new fatalities were reported from the state as of Wednesday evening. As per the media bulletin, Amritsar, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur 1, Kapurthala 1, Mansa, and Pathankot reported 1 new death each, while Jalandhar reported 3, Ludhiana 8, Mansa 1, Pathankot 1, and Patiala 6.
