Uproar over CAG report in Delhi Assembly; Atishi, 11 AAP MLAs suspended

PTC News Desk: At least 12 opposition MLAs including former Delhi Chief Minister who is now also Leader of Opposition were suspended for the day over pandemonium due to Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on now scrapped liquor policy.
The report tabled in assembly this morning, is one of dozens alleging corruption by the AAP, which ruled Delhi till the BJP's election win this month. The report also includes allegations against AAP surrounding official residence of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to what BJP describes as 'Sheeshmahal'. The now ruling party BJP has claimed that the residence was refurbished with luxuries using taxpayers' money.
As the session commenced for the day, Lt Governor VK Saxena addressed the House. His speech was, however, disrupted by AAP legislators as they resorted to loud sloganeering against the BJP government resulting in their ouster.
After the suspension, MLAs staged a sit-in in assembly premises. Meanwhile Atishi alleged that BJP disrespected the architect of Consitution BR Ambedkar by removing their portrait from Chief Minister's office.
"The BJP has shown its true colours by removing Babasaheb Ambedkar's portrait. Does the party believe that (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi can replace Babasaheb?" she said.
