Delayed due to Covid-19, ISRO to launch Chandrayaan 3 next year

Chandrayaan 3 Launch Date: Delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is likely to launch the much-awaited Chandrayaan 3 mission to the Moon in the third quarter of 2022. The new timeline was announced by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who said, "the work of Chandrayaan-3 was in progress." In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, he said, the realisation of Chandrayaan 3 was in progress. The realisation of Chandrayaan 3 involves various processes including finalization of configuration, subsystems realization, integration, spacecraft level detailed testing, and a number of special tests to evaluate the system performance on earth. The realization of progress was hampered due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, all works that were possible in work from home mode were taken up even during lockdown periods.
