Customs officials seize huge amount of foreign, Indian currency notes at Amritsar airport
Amritsar, October 4: Customs officials at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport seized a large amount of international and Indian currencies valued at lakhs.
A passenger returning from London was apprehended with currency notes worth lakhs. The accused has been arrested, and an investigation into the matter is now underway.
According to sources, the currency was discovered when the airline staff observed the luggage bags of London-returned passengers on the X-ray machine.

When the authorities searched the bags, they discovered a large amount of foreign currency as well as Indian rupees.
The customs authorities questioned the traveller about the notes, but he was unable to provide any information. Following that, the accused was apprehended.
