Amid decline in COVID-19 cases, Punjab Government decides to close COVID Care Centre
Coronavirus: Amid a decline in COVID-19 cases, the Punjab government on Monday decided to close the COVID Care Centres from today. Meanwhile, it has been directed that the patients in the care centre be shifted to Level 2 government hospitals. Likewise, the Volunteer staff has been relieved from their duty after the closure of COVID care centres. The Nodal officers and in charges at COVID Care Centre have been directed to make sure the above-mentioned equipment has been returned to the district hospitals. A total of 1,02,648 COVID patients have been declared cured and discharged in the state. Only 12,897 number of active cases are left in the state while 291 COVID patients are on oxygen support. 47 patients are said to be critical and on ventilator support. The death toll in the state stands at 3,641 out of which 38 new deaths were reported on Monday. -PTC News
