Covid-19: India sees drop in positivity rate; Omicron case tally at 4,461

Coronavirus and Omicron in India Update: India on Tuesday reported 1,68,063 fresh cases of Covid-19, 69,959 recoveries, and 277 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated. Meanwhile, the active case tally in India has reached 8,21,446 with the daily positivity rate at 10.64 percent. As compared to Monday, the total number of fresh Covid-19 cases is down by 11,660. On the other hand, India's Omicron case tally has increased to 4,461, the Health Ministry stated while giving a coronavirus update. Meanwhile, the tally of the active cases of Covid-19 has reached 8,21,446. There is a slight decline in the positivity rate, which was 13.29 percent on Monday. The Union Health Ministry further informed that 69,959 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery tally to 3,45,70,131. The recovery rate is at 96.36 percent. The country also witnessed 277 new Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. As many as 4,84,213 people have succumbed to the infection so far.
