Covid-19: India reports 796 fresh cases in 24 hours
New Delhi, April 12: India reported 796 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the data updated by the Union health ministry on Tuesday. With this, the active caseload stands at 11,889. In India, 19 patients have succumbed to the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, 946 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries in the country to 4,25,04,329. According to the update by the health ministry, the active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 percent. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.20 percent and the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.24 percent, according to the ministry. "More than 188.88 crore (1,88,88,10,015) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category," the ministry had said. "Over 18.03 crore (18,03,01,726) balance and unutilized Covid-19 Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered," it said.
