Coronavirus Update: India sees marginal rise in Covid-19 cases
Coronavirus Update: India on Thursday reported 1,72,433 fresh Covid-19 cases, 6.8 percent higher than Wednesday, in the last 24 hours taking the total number of active coronavirus cases in the country to 15,33,921. In the last 24 hours, India reported 2,59,107 Covid-19 recoveries and 1008 coronavirus-related deaths. As per the latest update on coronavirus, the active cases stand at 15,33,921 while the death toll has reached 4,98,983 and the daily positivity rate stands at 10.99 percent. The active cases have reduced by 87,682 to reach 15,33,921-- 3.67 percent of the total tally-- while the country's recovery rate stands at 95.14 percent, the ministry said. Mumbai reported 1,128 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths on Wednesday. The financial capital recorded more than 1,000 cases after a gap of two days. The caseload in the metropolis increased to 10,48,521 while the death count has climbed to 16,640, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a release. On Tuesday, the city had reported 803 new cases and seven deaths. Meanwhile, Delhi reported 3,028 fresh infections in a day while Karnataka registered 20,505 new Covid-19 cases while Kerala reported 52,199 fresh cases of the contagion disease.
