With highest single-day spike, Punjab's COVID tally surges to 69,684

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 69,684 after 2,137 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state on Wednesday. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, the death toll in the state has increased to 2,061 after 71 new deaths were reported from the state on Wednesday. A total of 1,231 COVID patients were declared cured and recovered out of which Ludhiana reported 314 new recoveries, Jalandhar reported 160, Patiala 128, Amritsar 131, Sangrur 22, Bathinda 113, Gurdaspur 53, Moga 64, Hoshiarpur 24, Pathankot 11, Barnala 20, Fatehgarh Sahib 20, Kapurthala 27, Faridkot 35, Tarn Taran 2, Ropar 23, Fazilka 32, SBS Nagar 15, and Muktsar 37. Among the new deaths Amritsar reported 3 new deaths, Bathinda reported 5, Fatehgarh Sahib 4, Fazilka 1, Ferozepur 1, Gurdaspur 2, Hoshiarpur 4, Jalandhar 11, Kapurthala 6, Ludhiana 13, Mansa 1, Moga 1, SBS Nagar 4, Pathankot 1, Patiala 8, Ropar 1, and Sangrur 5.
