Punjab tally rises to 65 after fresh cases of coronavirus reported from Mohali, Jalandhar and Pathankot

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 65 after fresh cases were reported from Mohali, Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Pathankot on Saturday. As per the media bulletin released by the Punjab Health Department, three cases have been reported from Amritsar, two from Mohali, and one each from Jalandhar, Faridkot and Pathankot, on Saturday. The cases reported from Jalandhar, Amritsar and Mohali are contacts of coronavirus patients. Earlier in the day, the daughter of late Hazoori Ragi Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday. She has been admitted to a hospital in Jalandhar. Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa died due to coronavirus on Thursday. Earlier, the first case was reported from Faridkot. A 35-year-old man has tested positive in Harindra Nagar, Faridkot. Earlier on Friday, three were tested positive in Mansa who had attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi. Likewise, two were reported from Mohali, who had also attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin. Meanwhile, 3 people, who came in contact with Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa, tested positive for coronavirus in Amritsar. After Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa's death, the Punjab Government released a list of 31 people who came in touch with him. Likewise, a 69-year-old female tested positive in Shimlapuri in Ludhiana on Thursday. Responding immediately, the Shimlapuri area was sealed in an order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. -PTC News
