Punjab tally rises to 245 after Jalandhar reports new case of coronavirus

The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in Punjab has increased to 245 after Jalandhar reported another positive case of coronavirus on Monday. As per the media bulletin issued by the State Health Department on Monday, another case in Jalandhar is the contact of corona positive patient. Mohali remains the worst-hit district with 61 positive cases followed by Jalandhar at 48 and Patiala at 26. Pathankot has so far reported 24 cases while Nawanshahr tally stands at 19. Ludhiana witnessed 16 cases while Amritsar and Mansa reported 11 cases each.

Home Away From Home' facility for Punjab Cops

The Punjab Police personnel fighting on the frontline of the coronavirus battle will now have a `Home Away from Home’ type of facility in the districts where they are working, equipped with all essential amenities, for home quarantining, in case of possible/suspected infection. All the police personnel deployed on the high exposure duties will also be provided full-body protective wear, such as PPEs, N95, and triple-layer masks and gloves, to ensure their full protection from any risk of infection. No industrial activity in containment/hotspot areas

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has directed that the industrial units being permitted to function in non-containment zones would be required to align to the state government’s earlier orders, as also the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). -PTC News
