Ropar, Mansa report new cases; total number of cases in Punjab 57

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 57 after fresh cases were reported from Amritsar, Mohali, Mansa and Ropar district on Friday. According to the information, three people have been tested positive in Mansa who had attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi, the CMO Mansa Lal Chad Thakural said. There were 11 people out of which three have tested positive and 6 tested negative, while two of them have been sampled. Three people, who tested positive, have been identified one man and two women. Earlier, 3 people, who came in contact with former Hazuri Raghi of Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa, tested positive for coronavirus in Amritsar. Likewise, two cases were reported from Mohali, who had also attended a religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi. Meanwhile, Ropar has reported its first case of coronavirus from a village in Ropar's Morinda. A man with sugar issues was admitted to a civil hospital in Chandigarh. His family members have been kept in home quarantine. Death toll in Punjab

The first death was reported after Baldev Singh, died in Nawanshahr. The second was reported when a man identified as Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur died in a hospital in Amritsar. Third, a 65-year-old man who tested positive for the pandemic in Nayangaon, Mohali, died due to coronavirus. Fourth, a death was reported from Ludhiana where a 42-year-old woman identified as Pooja died due to coronavirus. Fifth, Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa who succumbed to the disease on Thursday. -PTC News
