Punjab tally rises to 197 after Jalandhar reports fresh cases; death toll in the state 14
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 197 after fresh cases were reported from Jalandhar, Pathankot, and Patiala. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Jalandhar reported six new cases while Pathankot reported two new cases. Patiala reported 3 new cases. The husband of the deceased Shahkot woman in Jalandhar, who had tested positive on Sunday, also tested positive. Another man, a Qila Mohalla resident who was close to the son of the deceased Mitha Bazaar man, tested positive in Jalandhar. In Patiala, three family members (wife and two sons) of Safabadi Gate area corona patient have tested positive and have been shifted to the RH isolation ward. Pathankot reported two cases taking the district total to 24. Meanwhile, Jalandhar has reported 31 cases so far while Patiala tally has increased to 6. Mohali is having the highest number of coronavirus cases in the state followed by Jalandhar and Pathankot.
