Coronavirus: India records more recoveries than new cases for 2nd consecutive day
Coronavirus India Updates: In a sigh of relief, India on Wednesday recorded more recoveries than new cases for the second consecutive day. The Union Health Ministry, while giving coronavirus updates, stated that India reported 3,48,421 new COVID-19 cases, 3,55,338 discharges, and 4,205 deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 30,75,83,991 samples have been tested up to May 11, 2021, for COVID-19. Of these, 19,83,804 samples were tested on Tuesday. In an order to boost the COVID-19 vaccination, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) has given nod to Bharat Biotech's Covaxin for phase 2 and 3 human clinical trials on 2 to 18-year-olds, the sources revealed. In the meanwhile, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will have a meeting on Wednesday, with the Health Ministers of some states that are lagging behind in COVID-19 vaccination.
