India records biggest daily rise in COVID-19 cases; tally rises to 44,65,864

Coronavirus India Cases Today: India reported a single-day spike of 95,735 new COVID-19 cases and 1,172 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Thursday morning. A total of 72,939 COVID patients in India were declared cured and recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 44,65,864 out of which 9,19,018 are active cases, 34,71,784 have been cured, and discharged while 75,062 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to September 9 is 5,29,34,433 out of which 11,29,756 samples were tested on Wednesday. Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state. It reported 23,816 new cases of coronavirus taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 9,67,349 out of which 2,52,734 are active cases, 6,86,462 recovered cases while 27,787 deaths were reported from the state.
