Coronavirus positive cases in India rise to 1,38,845; death toll 4,021

The total number of coronavirus (COVID 19) cases in India has increased to 1,38,845 after 6,977 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Monday morning. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the death toll has increased to 4,021 after 154 new deaths were reported from the country in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: “Highest-ever spike of 6,977 COVID-19 cases and 154 deaths in India in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the country now at 1,38,845 including 77,103 active cases, 57,720 cured and discharged and 4,021 deaths.” Maharashtra remains to be the worst-hit state with over 50,231 cases of coronavirus with 3,041 new cases and 58 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,635. Of the total 50,231 cases, a total of 14,600 patients have been cured. Another covid patient died in Himachal | Himachal News Tamil Nadu is on second with 16,277 cases, and Gujarat at third with 14,056 cases. The death toll was 111 in Tamil Nadu while 858 in Gujarat. Delhi has reported 13,418 cases and 261 deaths, while 6,412 patients have been cured.
