Coronavirus: Jalandhar and Sri Muktsar Sahib report first death; toll rises to 10

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 120 after fresh cases were reported from Jawaharpur village in Derabassi, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Ludhiana. Meanwhile, the death toll in Punjab has reached 10 after a death was reported each from Jalandhar and Ropar. Sri Muktsar Sahib reported its first case of coronavirus after a 17-year-old, suspected of being Tablighi Jamaat, tested positive for the pandemic. Likewise, Ludhiana reported two new cases. A 15-year-old male, resident of Chowki Man, Tehsil Jagroan, in Ludhiana and a resident of Mohalla Ganesh Nagar tested positive for coronavirus. Jalandhar reported three new cases including a man and two women. Likewise, Amritsar reported a new case after a man, who returned from England on March 23, tested positive for the pandemic. Meanwhile, 7 new cases were reported from Jawaharpur village in Derabassi, Mohali. Jawaharpur itself has reported 22 coronavirus cases so far. The total number of coronavirus cases in Mohali has increased to 37. Punjab Chief Secretary, KBS Sidhu, said that "Parveen Kumar, 59, a resident of Mitha Bazar, Jalandhar, coronavirus positive patient expired around midnight.
