Comedian Munawar Faruqui wins Kangana Ranaut's reality show 'Lock Upp'

Mumbai, May 8: Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui has been declared the winner of Kangana Ranaut-hosted reality show 'Lock Upp'. Munawar lifted the winner trophy on Saturday night after receiving more than 18 lakh votes, beating contestant Payal Rohatgi in the final race. With his incredible win, Munawar also received Rs 20 lakh, a car and an all-expense-paid trip to Italy. He described being physically abused as a child. He also disclosed that his mother died by suicide. Ekta Kapoor's 'Lock Upp' pitted 20 participants against each other in a prison-like setting. Poonam Pandey, Kaaranvir Bohra, Ali Merchant, Zeeshan Khan, Mandana Karimi, Nisha Rawal, Sara Khan, Vinit Kakar, Babita Phogat, Swami Chakrapani, Tehseen Poonawalla, Siddhartha Sharma, Prince Narula, and Chetan Hansraj were among the celebrities who took part in the controversial show.
