Chandigarh Police arrests 7 with stolen Bullet motorcycles

Chandigarh Police Nabs Bike Lifters: Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success after the Police officials of Police Station Sector-39, under the supervision of Inspector Amanjot Singh, arrested seven dacoits along with six stolen Bullet motorcycles on Monday. According to the information, they were planning to loot the Petrol Pump of Sector 39. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered under Sections 399 and 402 of the Indian Penal Code. Six of the seven arrested accused have been identified as Hardeep, Kavi Singh, Balihar Singh, Sharanjit Singh, Santy Kumar and Baljinder Singh. All the accused are drug addicts and to fulfill their urge of drugs they started committing thefts and after stealing these bikes they use to sell it to the innocent people living in villages on the pretext that they are selling these bikes on a cheaper rate as compared to the market rates. As per reports, the accused used to promise the innocent buyers that they will provide the NOC later and will receive the remaining amount at the time of handing over the NOC. The gang has stolen more than 70 two wheelers from Chandigarh and Punjab and further sold it in different villages of Patiala, Khanna, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh and Mohali. Out of these 70 bikes 34 bikes have already been recovered in Police Station Sector 39 and were taken in police possession under section 102 of CrPC. During the interrogation of the accused Kavi an important aspect has emerged that the accused used to be a three wheeler driver. He used to run auto from south division till Kharar and while in this profession Kavi came in contact with one girl and they became friend and later the father of the girl made a complaint against Kavi in one of the Police Station in Mohali. The matter was later compromised and from then Kavi started giving information to the Police regarding the drug suppliers and Boot-lagers. He used to stand outside the wine shops and whenever someone used to pick up liquor in huge quantity he used to inform the Police. In lieu of this information he use to get incentives from the Police.
