Chandigarh International Airport resumes international flights
Covid 19: After almost a period of two months, international flight operations resumed at Chandigarh International Airport on Thursday. Also read | Vistara announces non-stop flights between Delhi, Paris from November 7 Air India Express, AXB188/187, arrived at 1455 hours from Sharjah with 29 passengers and departed for Sharjah at 1800 hours with 131 passengers. The departure flight was operated according to the new Covid 19 guidelines issued by the UAE. The Rapid/RT-PCR tests for all departing passengers were conducted at Chandigarh International Airport itself. Air India Express submitted that the international flight will operate on every Thursday and Sunday in the week. Last arrival from Sharjah was on July 16, 2021, and departure for Sharjah was on April 23, 2021. Both flights were operated by Air India Express. IndiGo’s Dubai flight, the only other international flight from the airport, is also likely to start in the second week of October. While the Sharjah flight was operating twice a week, the Dubai one flew on all days except Sunday. The Covid 19 pandemic grounded these flights in March last year. Get RT-PCR report in 30 minutes With the introduction of an RT-PCR lab on the Chandigarh airport premises, travellers can now get their Covid 19 test results in less than 30 minutes. The test will cost ₹1,727. The facility will enable passengers to get tested as and when required. -PTC News
