Central civil service rules to apply for Chandigarh administration employees from April 1; Union ministry of Home affairs (MHA) issues notification. These rules may be called Union Territory of Chandigarh employees (Conditions of Service) Rules 2022. Also read | Punjab stares at major power outage with coal shortage in thermal plants On Sunday, during his one-day visit to Chandigarh, Shah had said the notification would be issued on Monday and implemented from April 1. Thereafter, the services of Chandigarh administration employees will come directly under the Central Civic Services Rules, instead of the Punjab Civil Services Rules. The Union minister had also said that after the change, the retirement age of employees will be 60 years and those in the education field, like professors, can work till the age of 65. Also, the maternity leave period will be increased from one year to two years and there will be a child education allowance. MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 29th March, 2022 G.S.R. 230(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Conditions of Service of Union Territory of Chandigarh Employee Rules, 1992, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the conditions of service of persons appointed to the services and posts under the administrative control of the Administrator of the Union territory of Chandigarh, namely :-
