CBI arrests bank manager for demanding bribe

New Delhi [India], August 8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) held Uttar Pradesh’s Central Bank of India branch manager for allegedly demanding a bribe. The email states that the Branch Manager of Central Bank of India demanded Rs 13,000 bribe for allowing withdrawal of money from bank account of his late father who died in Covid-19 wave. centralbank4 The FIR in the matter reads, "My father died during the Covid wave and Rs 2,63,739 are deposited in his account. Even after completing all required formalities to get the deposited amount released, the bank manager kept on making various excuses and finally, he demanded Rs 13,000 bribe but I don't want to give a bribe.” Also Read | Punjab mulls merger of Punsup with Pungrain Meanwhile, the complaint has been verified by CBI inspector who confirmed that statement that there is a bribe of Rs 13,000 for releasing the bank account balance of Rs 2,63,739 available in the bank account of the late father of the complainant.
