BJP's Tajinder Bagga gets HC relief; arrest stayed till July 5

Chandigarh, May 10: In a major relief to BJP leader Tajinder pal Singh Bagga, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed his arrest till July 5. The court has made it clear that no action should be taken against him till July 5. The case will now come up for hearing after summer vacation. Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed the arrest of BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga till May 10. The court directed that no punitive action be taken against Bagga. Notably, the Delhi BJP leader had filed a petition in the High Court seeking stay on the arrest warrant issued by a Mohali court. Subsequently, his father lodged a complaint before the Delhi Police alleging that his son was kidnapped by unknown people, following which the Delhi and Haryana Police coordinated and took the custody of Tajinder Bagga from the Punjab Police. He was produced before the Magistrate in Delhi the same day and released the next morning. Tajinder Bagga's parents welcomed the High Court's decision.
