BCCI approves inclusion of two new teams at the IPL
10 team IPL event: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday approved the inclusion of two new teams at the IPL at its 89th Annual General Meeting in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, fans will see the tournament expand into a 10-team IPL event starting from the 2022 season after BCCI gave a nod to it. Likewise, the IPL Governing Council has been asked to have a look at the details regarding the expansion of the number of teams. The BCCI will support the International Cricket Council's bid for the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Olympics after clarity from the Indian Olympic Association.
