Mahindra Thar Roxx: A peep into 5-door feature-loaded interiors of new Thar
The Thar Roxx will feature a dual-tone cabin theme and soft-touch materials with contrast stitching on the dashboard
PTC Web Desk: Mahindra has once again teased the Thar Roxx ahead of its official unveiling on Independence Day, August 15. This teaser reveals numerous features and the interior layout of the upcoming SUV. Many of these features, although familiar within the Mahindra lineup, are a first for the Thar. With these enhancements, the Thar Roxx will set a new standard in its segment for the level of equipment offered.
The Thar Roxx will feature a dual-tone cabin theme and soft-touch materials with contrast stitching on the dashboard. The seats will be upholstered in light-coloured leatherette. A panoramic sunroof, as well as two large screens for infotainment and driver display—apparently borrowed from the Scorpio N—are also highlighted.
However, the teaser suggests that the Thar Roxx might not include the previously speculated dual-zone climate control. A notable addition is the Harman Kardon audio system. In terms of safety, it will be equipped with 6 airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) might also be available.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is likely to be powered by the same engines as the Thar 3-door: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel unit, though possibly in different states of tune. There is also a possibility of a 1.5-litre diesel engine, similar to that of the Thar rear-wheel drive.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to start at a price of Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the likes of the Force Gurkha 5-door and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
