Indian auto giant establishes plant in Brazil, expands sales to 100 countries; not Hero or Royal Enfield
This Indian automaker, which produces both two- and three-wheelers, currently exports its goods to 100 nations.
PTC News Desk: Reputable producer of three- and two-wheelers Bajaj Auto has established a new production facility in Manaus, Brazil. In the presence of the governor of the state of Amazon, other dignitaries, dealers, and business partners, the facility was officially opened yesterday. Currently, the massive Indian automaker sells its cars in 100 different nations.
The Manaus factory is 9,600 square meters in size and can produce 20,000 units annually in a single shift. It has facilities for testing, car assembly, and engine assembly.
In due future, Bajaj Auto intends to further expand the plant to accommodate an additional 50,000 vehicles per year of production capacity.
The Manaus plant is equipped with different conveyor and transfer systems that connect the various manufacturing stages, as well as automated production lines and integrated quality control systems. When the Dominar models become available for introduction, the facility will primarily concentrate on producing them. Later, it will also start producing Pulsar models.
In June 2023, construction on the Manaus facility began, and a year later the factory was ready for production. With intentions to expand to more product lines, the first phase focused on sourcing, assembling, and testing the Dominar models.
The manufacturing processes of the Manaus site have been certified by ISO. The Brazilian subsidiary of Bajaj Auto, Bajaj do Brasil, has begun obtaining essential motorcycle parts and components from Manaus after effectively integrating local suppliers.
