Amit Shah to visit Chandigarh on July 30; traffic police issue advisory

Chandigarh, July 28: Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit on Saturday, the traffic police has issued an advisory. Notably, this is Amit Shah's second visit to Chandigarh in four months. According to the traffic advisory released on Wednesday, "vehicular movements in Chandigarh will be restricted between 3 pm to 10 pm on the road stretch from Old Barricade Chowk (Sector 1/3/4 Chowk) on Uttar Marg to Sector 5/6-7/8 Chowk (Hira Singh Chowk) on Sarovar Path." Furthermore, guests/invitees have been requested to "approach the place of function at Sukhna Lake from Old Barricade Chowk (Sector 1/3/4 Chowk) and park their vehicles in the designated parking lots." Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come to Chandigarh on July 30 Meanwhile, "general public wishing to visit Sukhna Lake between 3 pm to 10 pm are requested to approach Sukhna Lake through road coming from St. Kabir School Light Point to Kishangarh turn leading to the backside of Sukhna Lake and road approaching Regulatory End via Kishangarh Chowk in Kishangarh village and to park their vehicles in available parking lots backside Sukhna Lake as shown in the map." "Further, traffic movement may be restricted/diverted at other road stretches as well in view of VVIP movement" on Saturday. During his visit to the city, the home minister will attend the “Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” laser show at Sukhna Lake on Saturday evening.
