Oxygen crisis in Delhi: At least 25 patients died in 24 hours at New Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the medical director said in a statement on Friday. Reportedly, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi said in an SOS that it had oxygen for just 2 hours. It also stated that the ventilators and Bipap [non-invasive ventilation] were not working effectively. Need Oxygen to be airlifted urgently, it said, urging the governments to help. Meanwhile, Chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, clarified that false reports were making rounds on the Internet that they died due to a shortage of Oxygen. The oxygen crisis in Delhi has prompted the Centre to invoke the Disaster Management Act to ensure its unrestricted supply as Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia blamed police forces of the two neighboring states for preventing the movement of tankers carrying it.
