ADGP Arpit Shukla visits various religious places in Punjab, reviews security arrangements

Amritsar, September 6: The incidents of blasphemy in Punjab are increasing day by day, which is raging discontent among various sections of people in Punjab. Recently, three major incidents took place in Punjab’s Amritsar and Tarn Taran including the clash between Nihangs and followers of Dera Radha Soami Satsang, Beas, and vandalising incident at a Tarn Taran church. Also Read: MeitY takes note of Arshdeep Singh's wiki page, may take action on Wikipedia: Sources  Amid the major three incidents of blasphemy in Punjab, ADGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla visited several religious places in Amritsar, besides checking the nakas at different parts of the city. While his visit to various religious places, he also visited the church at Amritsar’s bypass and reviewed the security of temples and mosques in Amritsar. ADGP stated that under the operation of checking various religious places took place under the guidance and leadership of Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav. He was accompanied by Police Commissioner Arun Pal Singh, DCP Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Additional Deputy Commissioner P Singh Virk, ADCP Mehtab Singh and ACP Gurinder Pal Singh Nagra. He said some anti-national forces always wanted to create trouble in the sensitive border state of Punjab. He said the Punjab Police were fully prepared to give a befitting reply to such elements. “Nobody will be allowed to deteriorate law and order in the state,” he said. He further stated that his purpose to visit the city is to ensure security for each and every citizen and for all religious institutions. ADGP Arpit Shukla said that Punjab Police had played a very good role at the time of terrorism. Now a campaign is being run against gangsters and drug smugglers. If the top officers of Punjab Police play their part in eliminating the criminals with full dedication, then people will be able to live in peace across the state. -PTC News
